How We Spent Our Winter Break by Addie and Max Corbett
We had a busy weekend celebrating Christmas with Grandma and
Papa and Grandma and Grandpa. We
got lots of presents and had fun playing with all of our new toys while we were
home with mama and dada.
The next day we went to the Kid’s Museum with our friends. Our favorite room to play in is the Habitot room where Max can crawl EVERYWHERE and I can dress up like different animals.
We went skating at my park a couple of times. I don’t need the racecar anymore and can skate all by myself! Max can’t skate, but he likes to slide in his sled.
We went to my friend Hazie’s house for a New Year’s Eve Party. We got to eat pizza and brownie sundaes and watch the movie Rapunzel. After the movie we had a dance party, did a countdown, and cheers. We had a lot of fun!
One night we went to the Mall of America to go on
rides. I like the carousel best
and even rode on it two times! We
ate dinner at the Rainforest Café.
There were monkeys there and rain and we even got to sit by the fish!
We all went to the Minnesota zoo. I liked watching Semo from the front row – we even almost
got wet! Max liked watching all
the fish in the shark tank and even tried to crawl after them.

The last day of winter break we went to get out our energy at Eagle’s Nest. I like going down the bumpy slide by myself best. Max liked playing with the balls and on the mats.
Winter break was the most fun this year because both mama
and dada were home!

2011
An annual New Year’s Day activity for me is to flip through
the past 12 months of photos in my iPhoto. For me, this is the perfect way to reflect on the year that
has passed and begin to think about the year that is upon us.
Last year was filled with so much anticipation surrounding
the pending arrival of Max. The
first photos from January 2011 include a picture of myself with my two good
friends, Debbie and Kelly. We were
all pregnant and each due one week apart.
The majority of the photos that follow are of our attic. It’s amazing how a space that wasn’t
even sheet rocked a year ago is now a familiar space in our daily life. Next, we have pictures of Addie’s 3rd
birthday, her finished “big girl room”, and the arrival of Max! This was by far the highlight of 2011 –
to welcome our beautiful and healthy baby boy into our family. He has brought us so much joy in so
many ways. The rest of the photos
document our time as a family of four - no vacations or trips to Alpine Valley,
just our little family… which to me, is perfect.
