Start! Heart Walk

On Saturday Addie and I joined my parents for the Heart Walk at Harriet Island. It was a fun event with lots of walkers and good swag. All this walking must have inspired Addie because she took 3 steps on her own tonight!

A Running First

I do a lot of urban running and biking, and therefore talk about it a lot with other friends who do it as well. According to the most experienced runners/bikers, it's not IF you get hit by a car, but WHEN. No worries, I wasn't hit by a car today, but was nearly bit by a dog! I passed 5 dogs on my run (including a pit bull, husky, and lab mix) and a little ankle biter tried to do just that! The owner had it on one of those "expandable" leashes, but didn't lock it or shorten its reign when I went by and it showed its teeth and jumped up on me and tried to bite me! Luckily I jumped back before it could sink its teeth, but apparently I need to be on the lookout for cars AND dogs for now on.

Happy Easter!

We had a very fun and busy day with church and two family gatherings. Addie really enjoyed St. Joan's Family Mass where Farmer Frank brought all the baby animals for the kids to see and pet. She is becoming more and more of an animal lover each day! It was fun to see how strong her interest was in these tiny animals and how she waited so patiently for the next one to come over. It was also nice to run into our friends Jill, James, and Isaiah at church. Little things like these are what make us so happy for our choice to belong to St. Joans. We then visited with both the Rodgers and Corbett families. Addie had a great time eating good food and playing with her cousins!

How I Spent My Spring Break by Addie Corbett

We played with friends Eva and Madolyn. I liked going down the slide and playing in the ball pit best.

We went to the zoo with our friends Kathryn, Olivia, and Erin. We looked at the fish for a long time and then had lunch. Then mama and I went on a tractor ride out the the farm to see all the baby animals. My favorites were the goats. I liked making "baa" noises with them and letting them lick my hands.

We went for runs and walks everyday. This inspired me to work on my walking at home!
