The past two weekends are the first two we have spent at home in some time. It has been nice to keep up on cleaning the house, and to start some new projects! :) Having all this time (insert sarcasm) has inspired me to tear up our decrepit back deck and make plans for a new one. As with all projects with a house this old, our timeline has increased exponentially, and the cost has already doubled.
We have also had time for family fun:
A trip to Fort Snelling with Grandma and Grandpa Engstrom
Play time at the wading pool with Daddy
Hanging out with Grandma and Papa Corbett at Car Craft
I feel that the school year is fast approaching and hope to continue getting out and having fun before school starts. Let me know if you are up for a trip to the beach or just want to go get lunch!

Yummo!
Tonight we "played" with rice cereal for the first time! Addie has been giving us many of the readiness signs for a while, and now just seemed like a good time. Her reaction was mostly that of uncertainty, but I think we all had fun.
One of her favorite activities lately has been playing in her exersaucer. She loves experimenting with all the different toys, and she especially likes trying to pull the animals into her mouth to suck on. This center has also proved useful as a fort for Gracie!
In other news I have been attending a conference this week and so have been away from Addie each day. It is much harder than I imagined it would be, and I miss her so much! The good news is that there is only 2 days left. Bad news is workshop starts in 33 days :(

Third Time's the Charm
We had been planning on making the jump from size 1 to size 2 diapers as soon as we ran out of our current supply of size 1's. However, Addie was ready for the change before we were... three days in a row this week she woke up from naps with a poop explosion! By that time I was so sick of washing clothes, sheets, mattress pads, and even comfort blankets, that I purged our size 1 diaper collection and we are now on to size 2! Despite this mess, we had a number of fun activities this week including visits with grandparents, great grandparents and friends, a trip to a Minneapolis wading pool, and an excursion to Fort Snelling. I will post pictures soon of these events as soon as I load them.
The current event on my mind is that I am dropping Addie off at daycare for the first time tomorrow. I have a week long training that I am required to attend, and I figured spending couple of days at Miss Tina's would be good for all of us. FYI - the Miss is my addition to her name, it just sounds more daycare-ish to me :) I know she will be in good hands, and probably have a great time, but I am going to miss her. And to top it all off, Brian is in San Antonio right now, so I am left to do this on my own. I just keep reminding myself this is only for a few days and it will definitely help with the transition to going back to work in the fall - which seems to be approaching quickly!

Our Weekend at the Lake
This past weekend we visited our friends, Erin and A.J.'s cabin. There was a large group of us that included 4 kids and 3 dogs! Here are some pictures of the fun:

4 Month Stats
Weight: 13 lbs, 4 oz (45%)
Length: 23.75" (25%)
Head: 16.5" (75%)
Likes: Waking up in the morning, yoga, singing Boowa and Kwala songs, bug toys - or anything she can put in her mouth, Obama for President, cuddling in her sling, hanging out at lakes, grabbing and sucking on her toes
Dislikes: Shots, naps, long car rides, sun in her eyes, going to bed, Norm Coleman ads, vitamin D drops, lifejackets, did I say sleeping yet?
Well, as before, Addie is short and stalky with lots of brains. The good news is she is really catching up with others her age. She was given a clean bill of health and was given the o.k. to start solids. Yikes! Even though she may be ready, I'm not ready for that one yet. The good news is we were told there is no harm in waiting a bit, so maybe we'll give it a go around the 5 month mark... a month is sure to make a world of difference ;)

Happy 4th of July!
Addie's first 4th of July began with the Richfield parade which she enjoyed with the Rodgers family. She really liked looking at all the people and the commotion that goes along with a parade. Then it was off to Siren to watch fireworks with the Corbetts, which she slept through entirely! It was our third weekend in a row at the lake, which I think is a record. It was very relaxing with time spent reading, napping, and playing in the lake. Stay tuned tomorrow for some 4 month stats!
