Owie

I wasn't sure if I was going to write about this, but have always felt that this blog serves as a type of journal for us, so in that case, I guess I can't leave it out...

A few weeks ago Addie fell down our entire flight of stairs from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor. She was pretty shaken up, but overall fairly calm. We decided to bring her in anyway just to get her checked out. Addie was complaining of shoulder pain, so they did an x-ray where they found that she had actually broken her collar bone. According to our doctor, this is a common injury (it even happened to her daughter) and a lucky one. Addie was given a sling that she wore for a week and has felt good ever since. The only residual pain comes whenever she gets ready to go down the stairs. She is still really scared and stops dead in her tracks at the top step and insists on one of us carrying her. This was definitely a scary thing for all of us, but it was also so amazing to see how brave and strong a 2 1/2 year old can be!

I have been wondering the story. Thanks for sharing. Glad she is doing better!

What a sweet little sling for a sweet little wing ...

I, too, had such an affliction at a tender age. At age two I guess I fell out of my high chair and broke my collar bone ... please know there has been absolutely NO residual fear of either sitting at the table OR dining over the years ... ;p
